 S. Gupta Defsys Solutions Pvt Ltd, a spokesman said that the recent use of Chinese and Pakistani drones to target Indian security forces is increasing rapidly and is causing a serious threat to the nation. Chinese and Pakistani drones equipped to launch grenades, drugs, etc. 

they are used more frequently now than before as a new weapon and a means of distributing illegal items in India.

In December 2020, a Pakistani drone carrying 11 hand grenades was neutralized in Punjab from a field near the international border in Gurdaspur. 

 

Before that, in August 2019, the forces neutralized another drone carrying weapons. Incidents are increasing and the need to effectively neutralize drones is a priority.

The system was much needed as the use of small drones has increased dramatically over the years, making them a potential threat to critical infrastructure, other aircraft, and national security as they are small in size, low speed and low flight altitude.

 Drones are difficult to detect or disrupt due to their low visibility and low radar cross-section. These drones can be used for a number of reasons, including hostile purposes such as intelligence gathering, smuggling, or as armed platforms.
